Rüsselsheim am Main, Germany — [10.11.2025]
The Rüsselsheim Cricket Club e.V. (RCC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a distinguished Special Award for Outstanding Youth Work by the Hessischer Cricket Verband (HCV) in recognition of RCC's effort to organize several youth events (boys and girls) for HCV during 2024-25 seasons. This recognition celebrates the club’s exemplary efforts in advancing youth development, fostering inclusive participation and building the future of cricket in Hessen. The award, inscribed with the words “Special Award for Outstanding Youth Work — presented to Rüsselsheim Cricket Club e.V. — In recognition of the dedication and support of all volunteers in HCV”, symbolises the HCV’s acknowledgement of RCC’s devoted volunteer base and the sustained impact of its youth-oriented programmes in Hessen.
As the first cricket club in Rüsselsheim registered with the Deutscher Cricket Bund (DCB) and affiliated with the HCV, RCC has established itself as a pioneer for cricket in the Rhine-Main region. The club boasts International Cricket Council (ICC) Level 1 coaches, ECB-certified umpires and a comprehensive development framework serving youth, women and adult teams alike.
Under its motto, “Aspiring Excellence, Inspiring the Future”, RCC has built an inclusive, multicultural environment welcoming players from Germany, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and England. Its state-of-the-art infrastructure and structured youth development programme reflect the club’s dedication to nurturing talent, promoting teamwork and community engagement.
The awarding body, the HCV, is responsible for overseeing cricket activities in Hesse, organising leagues, talent scouting and youth programmes. By granting this Special Award, the HCV highlights RCC’s outstanding contribution to the region’s cricketing landscape — particularly through its focus on youth and volunteer-run initiatives.
Club President Mohsan Hayat and Vice President Ashfaq Sheikh commented:
“We are deeply honoured to receive this distinction from the Hessischer Cricket Verband. It is a tribute to our coaches, volunteers and young players whose commitment and passion bring cricket alive in Rüsselsheim. Our aim has always been to provide more than sport — to cultivate values of respect, perseverance and community in our youth.”
Looking ahead, RCC remains committed to expanding its youth programmes, strengthening partnerships within the community and raising the profile of cricket in Hesse and beyond. This award invigorates its mission to be a leading centre for youth cricket development in Germany.
